Cuddle session -- Psalm 31

When a child trips over something and falls down, he may burst out screaming and be in great distress. To him it's almost too much to bear and it feels to him the end of the earth. All he wants to do is cry out loud, and search for a loving cuddle. When he finds his mom or dad, he'll have a good cry, but in his mom/dad's laps he'll feel comforted, and he'll feel alright again, then he'll be ok to go on with his playing.

Ps 31 feels to me like a moment of these: v9 "Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress."V7 "I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness..."v21"Blessed be the Lord, For He has made marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a besieged city."v22 "Nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to You."

Sometimes in life we have these trip down moments. It feels to us like the end of the calling or journey, we're in distress and we just want to cry. We can't think of the callings any more... But to God, this is simply a cuddle session...

Sing praise and give thanks -- Psalm 30

Ps30:4 "Sing praise to the Lord, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name." Sing praise and give thanks....that's what David's created for and defines who he is.
Praise and thanksgiving turns our eyes from ourselves and our natural circumstances to God Himself. It's like yesterday's Bible study verse, the 5 loaf and 2 fish, and five thousand fed. If we look at ourselves, we just see our 5 loaf and 2 fish, but when we give thanks and sing praises, we'll start to get a revelation of who Jesus is, and how he can feed the 5 thousand not us. Praise and thanksgiving brings the heaven down to earth as He dwells in them. It will release a new faith that's beyond our understanding, as our vision of God Himself is renewed during praise and thanksgiving.

Five thousand fed, Jesus walks on the water, Healing at Gennesaret -- Mark 6:30-56

When Jesus tells us to do something, just go ahead and do it. Don't worry about if it's possible for us to do it, if the task is too big or if we are capable. Don't worry about if the situation gets hard and the adversity gets too big to handle. We give him what we have, we start out on our own, then He'll supply the rest, and He'll show up in the journey in His time. If we have certain need in our lives, whether it's physical or financial, we need to seek Him first. When we go out of our ways and find Him, we'll have His touch and our needs will be met.

Price of sin --Mark 6, Proverb 5

Sin is like the bait on the hook of the fishermen, it always looks so yummy, pretty, attractive and irresistable. But when the fish bites it, he'll find it very hard to swallow.... that little bite costs him everything.

Faith and fear -- Mark 5, Psalm 27

Faith touches God. Wherever there's true faith, Jesus is moved and supernatural power is released.

Whenever faith is needed, very likely fear is around as well. If there's no adversity, we probably wouldn't need faith, either. Adversity really works to push faith to a higher ground. If we're desperately in need of a supernatural miracle, we'll have a good chance of finding the true faith.

Fear is the biggest enemy of faith. It seeks every opportunity to crush faith down. It can come from our past experiences, circumstances, common sense, other people's opinions and judgements, even Jesus' disciples attitute, the way we look at ourselves...

If we allow fear to speak to our mind, it will take it's place and stay. If we allow fear to stay, faith loses its ground.

Faith is really a choice. We choose to believe no matter what. We refuse to listen to fear. We shut down every doorway to fear. We turn the voices of fear down every time it tries to speak up. It's a constant choice, a constant battle.

Adversities is like a storm. We can choose fear and run away like the chickens, or, we can choose faith and to ride on the storm like an eagle and allow it to push us onto a higher level.

Ps27"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread?.....Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident.....And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy;....I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord."

"because you have followed the Lord my God fully" --Joshua 14

God had promised the Israelites the promised land. Of all that generation when God had spoken to them, only Joshua and Caleb entered in and possessed the land. All the other perished on the way.
Why? Caleb's words today put it in a nutshell: "v7 ...when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me...to spy out the land, and I brought word back to him as it was in my heart. v8 Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt with fear; but I followed the Lord my God fully. v9So Moses swore on that day, saying, surely the land on which your foot has trodden will be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God fully."

A lot of people receive God's promises through prophetic words, inner knowing, dreams, etc. The promises are real, they're from God. But only a few can really actually enter in and take full possession of those promises. Why? Do you bring the word back as it is or is your heart melt with fear? Do you want to follow the Lord fully? God is faithful. But are we faithful in following the Lord fully? Are we going to allow our hearts to be melted by fear or trust God fully and allow God to work wonders and miracles in seemly impossible situations? The promised land is really a result of our own choice.

My prayer -- Psalm25

Psalm 25 is such a beautiful prayer, it really speaks to my heart, and truly it's my prayer today as well:
1 To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
2 O my God, in You I trust,
Do not let me be ashamed; Do not let my enemies exult over me.
3 Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed;...
4 Make me Know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
13 His soul will abide in prosperity, And his descendants will inherit the land.....

That the King of glory may come in!- Joshua13, Psalm24

While fasting and praying this morning, this prayer comes out from my mouth,"Lift up your heads, O gates, And be lifted up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. ....The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory."(psalm24:7-10)

Coming back to Joshua, I was again reminded of the gate, Rehab, the sinners that the Lord has put in our pathways to save. It really stuck me yesterday as I was led to find out, that even though Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, Joshua led the people possessing all the land and inherit the promised destiny, out of all these, by the end of the day, it all came and gone pass, and the most blessing, the generation bloodline blessing? It went through Rehab! Moses and Joshua were not part of the generation bloodline of Jesus, but Rehab is! In other words, the Lord is more interested in Rehab than Moses and Joshua! In an eternal picutre, Rehab's blessing is far greater than Moses' and Joshua's, as all the blessings through Jesus will come back to Rehab as well. Possessing the promised land has it natural meanings, but when we look after Rehab, we're possessing promised land in heaven that's far greater than on earth. Sometimes all we're focusing is where is our share of the land? But more importantly, we need to ask ourselves, where is our share in heaven? The truth is, if we seek after His kingdom and His righteousness first, our share on earth will be given to us as well as a result.

He leads me beside quiet waters -psalm 23

Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." Do we want anything other than what the Lord wants for us? Do we have time to "lie down in green pastures"? Or does He really has to "make me"? "He leads me beside quiet waters."(v2) Quiet Waters!! This is the place He's leading me. Am I there? If we want the Lord to lead us in our life, but we're not at the place where He tells he'll give us his leadings, then where are we going? All the promises of the following verses comes from the result of the first 2 verses. But if we want something other than what the Lord wants, or if we are not beside quiet waters, lying down in green pastures, we'll miss the whole scene.
Sometimes life can get busy. Our mind can easily get contaminated with the wantings, we can just get so caught up with things and drift away from the things the Lord wants for us. When life gets busy, we so easily brush our devotion time away with so many excuses. But without a good time with the Lord, our life will not have it's leader, and without the proper leading, life gets messy!
So, however busy our life gets, we've got to remember, "He leads me beside quiet waters." Never do life without guidance and instructions from the quiet waters, the place you fellowship with the Lord alone.

Road map -- Proverb 4:20-23

Prov 4:20-23 "My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them And health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life."

When we want to get somewhere, a particular place, we can't just wander around hoping the place just pops up. We can even try very hard looking around, driving very fast, but unless we know where we are going, we're unlikely to find the place we want to go.
First we need a map, this is like "my words". Are you paying any attention to the words? It's all there. The instructions are all there. Have you read it? Are you bothered enough to read the instructions, the manuals, the maps? The Bible?? Sometimes although the instructions are all in the manual, we still can't understand. So we need some help. We need the explanation. But when someone explains to us, have we inclined our ears to listen? Do we have an ear to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying?
Then sometimes we have the instructions, we even have the explanations, but we come up with other reasons. "Look, nobody's driving that way, everyone's going the other way, it must be a wrong way." or, "Come on, this can't be right. This book is just an old book, the situation has changed. I'll just follow the common sense." We quickly forget what we've learned and disregard what we've been shown, just quickly brush everything aside that comes from the Holy Spirit, and said, "oh silly me, I believe that...?" Have we "let them depart from our sight"(v21)? Are we holding on and pressing on to what we believe?
Then lastly, "watch your heart with all diligence." Sometimes our heart can be so deceitful. We can have all sorts of emotions coming through, sometimes we're full on passionate, full on believing, other times we can feel discouraged, disappointed, frustrated, lonely, sad, ... are we going to follow any feelings that pops up on the day or do we watch our heart with all diligence? If you're on the right track, the enemy will make sure to give you all kinds of distractions. Are we going to allow these distractions to take us away or are we going to diligently keeping your focus?

Power to forgive --Mark 2:1-12

Jesus has the power to forgive. We all sinned to a certain degree, and are suffering from the results of the sin. It can be physical, but more so, in every part of our lives, financial, business, family life, emotional health, ministry...we can be a paralytic in another way, that's hindering us from entering into the full promises of God. We're not living with the standard that we're supposed to be, but the good news is, Jesus has the power to forgive and bring us into the total health that we're called to live in.

Fame chased after Jesus

Mark 1:44 "and He said to him, see that you say nothing to anyone." Jesus knew exactly what's gonna happen if he went out and tell anyone. He'd be famous! But He was trying to avoid fame. But as a result, fame chased after Him. Funny how these days people are more prone to chase after fame. Jesus was an example of "make it an ambition to lead a quiet life" (1Thess4:11).

I like today's proverb verse: Proverb 4:9 "She will present you with A CROWN OF BEAUTY".

Blessings to the nations - psalm 18, Joshua 12, proverb 4:7

Psalm 18:43 You have placed me as head of the nations; A people whom I have not known serve me. 44 As soon as they hear, they obey me; Foreigners submit to me. 45 Foreigners fade away, And come trembling out of their fortresses....47 And subdues peoples under me. 49 Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations, O lord, And I will sing praises to Your name.
What awesome words! I just feel this is word for word that God is speaking to me concerning the business that He's calling me into. Awesome!
Joshua 12 speaks to me of the blessings to be a blessing. This is where we should live, this is how life is supposed to be, that we can give out generously, that we're blessed enough, abundantly to be a blessing to others.

And the proverb4:7 says to me that we need to make a stand, to keep firm what's be entrusted to us.

A broad place - Psalm18, Joshua11

Psalm 18:19 "He brought me forth also into a broad place."

A broad place, what a good place to live! Compared to the narrow, small, normal, ordinary place that we're so used to live in, the Lord is taking us into a broad, open, expansive, wide, flourishing, overflowing, extraordinary place. Life will be different now. Lifestyle will change.

In Joshua 11, there's no more detail on how Joshua planned or battled for the places. It was just simply go go go, and win win win. It's happening! It's everywhere! It's mindblowing! It's overwhelming! Gosh, what an exciting life!

New Season, new chapter -- Joshua10

Joshua 10 speaks to me of recognising and entering into a different new season of life. There has been winter, the wilderness, now things are different. It's spring, and summer is coming. In the natural, all the trees are turning green almost overnight, all the new leaves are emerging and fast growing. It's such a busy, exciting season. In Joshua10,they were so busy harvesting that the Lord had to hold the sun and the moon.Harvest season can be exhausting, but it's so exciting! The topic at Hillsong women this month is Life in the fast lane. This new season in life is definately one in the fast lane! The Lord is all for us now, what an exciting new chapter! Compared to the winter, the priority of the messages were be still, wait upon the Lord, have faith, endure, but now entering into the new season, the message is simply go go go. Quite a difference hey!

Wilderness --Mark1:1-20

Mark 1:12 Immediately the Spirit impelled Him to go out into the wilderness."
Mark 1:4 John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

It seems to me that wilderness is a significant place in the Bible. Like Moses, David... Some physically, others emotionally, spiritually.

I've written two posts before about the wilderness or desert: Allure, The death of a seed. It took me a lot of years of pain and experience to write these two posts, so please have a read.

Apart from the things already explained in those two posts, I'm trying to gather some more thoughts about the desert.

. It's a place of different life style.
Simon and Andrew had a fishing career, but when Jesus called them, they dropped their business and followed Jesus. Everyone has a certain way of lifestyle. Moses lived in the royal palace. I'm sure it was a big difference between living in the desert and living in the palace. There must be a big readjustment and reshaping of life. He had to learn all the new survival skills.

.It's a place of reeducation and reformation.
Moses spent his first fourty years being educated in the royal house. He had established some value system in his mind. Desert is a place where God reestablish His value system in Moses.

.You look different.
"John was clothed with camel's hair and wore a leather belt around his waist, and his diet was locusts and wild honey." Was that an Australian Idol fashion? But why "all the country of Judea was going out to him and all the people of Jerusalem;"?
Don't worry about your awkward look or language(Moses lost his speech talent after 40 years, I'm sure he was trained as an eloquent speaker in the royal school.) Nobody has make up in the desert. But God will give you something that's really attractive: something that's not entertaining to look at, but something that will change people's lives.

. It's a stressful place, and faith is the only strength that sustains us and sees us through.
It's a place that the devil is given permission to tempt us. We're allowed to fail as human beings, and if we do we'll be under the torturors, but we're also given another chance through repentance.
It's a slow cooker. We won't be able to get out until we're cooked.
Faith won't grow overnight, it takes a long time to grow and mature.

. We're not alone in this lonely place.
Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit first, then was impelled to go to the wilderness. He looked alone, but the Holy Spirit was always there. When you feel lonely and painful, don't forget that the Holy Spirit is close by your side. Ask Him and He will help you.
Joyce Meyer said, if you've left is you and God, then you got to know Him really well.

. There's hope at the end.
After the wilderness, Jesus was fully released into His ministry. After the quiet 40 years of Moses' desert, there's glory, miracles and victories. You'll be rewarded, big time! It's all worth it when you look back one day.

. Be grateful for the desert, but don't stay there too long.
There's a purpose in desert. But there's also a time. There's a time for desert, and there's also a time to go out of the desert. Some people have lived in the desert for so long they are getting the desert mentality and they don't want to get out any more.
No! You don't belong to the desert for a life time. When it's the time to leave, change your outfit, go out and get a life!

. The skills you learned in the desert is a treasure for the rest of your life, and a treasure to benefit other people.
Sometimes you might look at your life in the desert and sighed as it looked as if you've achieved nothing, but it's really like going to a college or get a PHD degree. It'll pay back later on.

. Desert makes a person's life complete.
If Jesus needed this chapter in His life, we'd need it,too. It makes our lives full and complete in the whole picture.

You have tested me and you find nothing -- Psalm 17

Psalm 17:3 You have tried my heart; You have visited me by night; You have tested me and you find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.

What an awesome testimony! David dared to say those words in the midst of persecusion and adversity. When hated blatantly and chased after day and night, he remained his heart pure and in love. He refused to place judgement by himself in his ways upon his enemies, rather he asked the Lord for His justice in His time. (verse2 Let my judgement come forth from Your presence.)

This had to an outcome of being in the wilderness.

Butterfly effect--Proverb 3:27

Proverb3:27, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it." Every good that's released from our hands, within our power and capacity, can be like the flaps of the butterfly wings. They look small and insignificant, we tend to neglect or postpone, but as a matter of fact, if we do release them, the power of the Lord can reside and take over of those powers that we release, and somewhere down the track it could even evolve into a tornado. So don't underestimate every little thing that's in our power to do it, cause if you do, you might miss out big time.

Integrity -Psalm15

"O Lord, who may abide in Your tent? who may dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness...."

So many time we tend to walk aroud integrity, we try to get things done in so many other ways avoiding integrity. Sometime it seems that we can get around with it, but then we lose our stronghold, the abiding in the Lord's tent and the dwelling on His holy hill. In business world especially, it's extremely hard to remain totally integrity without subdue to the pressure of the world. It's really a choice, if we want to remain abiding in His tent and dwell on His holy hill or we just want to do everything on our own strength. For those who choose to walk with integrity, the promise is "He who does these things will never be shaken."(PS15:5). Do you want your business, or whatever your building to be unshakable? Then walk with integrity, and work righteousness.

Today's proverb verse really goes hand in hand with the psalm verses: Proverb3:23 Then you will walk in your way securely and your foot will not stumble. 26 For the Lord will be your confidence...

Encouragement in building--1 Thessalonians5:11

1Thess5:11 Therefore encourage one another and build up one another...

To me encouragement is like mortar in brick laying of building a house. Bricks are like all pieces of knowledge, but if we don't have the mortar, the encouragement to hold them together, they'll be shaky and not stable. But if we add encouragement in and spread it properly in between the bricks, it will be a strong wall when it's established and finished.

Wisdom, understanding and knowledge -- Proverb 3:19-20

Prov3:19-20 "The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens. By His knowledge the deeps were broken up And the skies drip with dew."

This is like we're presented two wrapped up gifts. We don't know what's inside the packages, but we're to make a choice. This is like the earth. The wrapping papers are different, decorations are different, and the things inside are different: one leads to heaven, and one leads to hell. We need wisdom to make the right choice. Wisdom is about discernment and judgement. There're lots of voices around us telling us which one to choose: the professional, people from fashion industries, workmates, church leaders, inner convictions, parents, people that we hang out with... Wisdom is to choose which voice we would follow.

Knowledge is about building up the value system. It's about learning. It's like reading the instruction paper. The Bible says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." We need the knowledge to make the breakthroughs. It's the foundation upon which wisdom is built upon.

Understanding has two part of the words: under and stand. Under speaks of rejection, renounce, refuse. And stand means to be firm with the decision. Once we've reached our decision out of knowledge and wisdom, we have to be firm about our choices, as the other voices will not give up easily, they'll try to steal,to side track, to convince us to the other choices. So we need to turn down the other option and stick to the gift pack we chose to have. And once we embrace fully the gift pack we have chosen, and claim it to be ours without any negotiation, we'll unwrap the present and experience heaven for our lives.

Do not fear or be dismayed --Joshua 8

Joshua has every reason to be fearful and dismayed at this point of his life: they've just stepped out in faith to attack the city of Ai and they failed. They were defeated by the enemies. They had faith, and they also had common sense, but this time it seemed that the common sense had won. Not only that, they had to stone Achan and all his family to death, and burn everything.

Now the Lord's calling them out again. Don't you reckon he'd be trembling this time? What if the Lord's not with them again? How could they step out in faith again just seeing what Achan had gone through?

The Lord must have made His command really loud and clear this time: do not fear or be dismayed. Go on with the calling!

Many people may have stopped furthering God's calling at this point of time. They stepped out in faith, tried a bit, then something went wrong, it didn't work, then they backed out, thinking it's not God. But God says, Fear not!Pull yourself up again and go on with the journey!

Today's Psalms is Psalm13, and verse 6 says, "I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me." When you know that the Lord has dealt bountifully with you, that your sin has been exposed and dealt with, then you can trust in His lovingkindness, that He's about to move on your behalf!

I remember Joyce Meyer said in her preaching at Hillsong conference, fear not doesn't mean you don't feel afraid. It's ok to feel afraid. But do it afraid!

Beautiful words -- Proverb3:13-18

I just love the proverb verses for today:
Proverb 3:13-18
"How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding. For her profit is better than the profit of silver and her gain better than fine gold. She is more precious tan jewels' and nothing you desire compares with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are all who hold her fast."

How awesome it is to pursue and seek after wisdom and understanding! You'll have long life, riches and honor, pleasant life, peace, fruitfulness, happiness and friendship. What else could you want for life!

Achan and his family stoned to death - Joshua 7

What a terrible thing to sin in the glory land? Maybe that's why out of mercy God keeps most of the people out of his promised land as they simply can't handle the glory with the intergrity needed.

What a solemn lesson for all of us? Sometimes all we want is the promised land, we want to get there as quick as possible, but if somewhere inside of us is still craving for ungodly things, it will get us into serious trouble sooner or later in the glory land. It's better to be tried first(as in today's psalm verse 12:6). Labour pains are severe, but it's better than being stoned to death and then be burnt with fire.

Sometimes we think intergrity is just a flash word, especially in today's society. But without intergrity, man cannot stand before the glory of God. Sometimes we think if we just steal a little bit of God's glory to ourselves we'd feel good and nobody will notice, but when God's wrath comes upon that "little" sin, oh my, I don't even want to think about what worse we could expect.

Something we should always remember.

Discipline - Pain of childbirth --Psalm 11, Prov3:11-12

Prov3:11-12 "My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord or loathe Hi reproof, For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights."I think sometimes the enemies are used by God as a means of discipline and reproof. Most of David's psalms are written in the midst of adversity, where in the natural all the reponse from the flesh could only be hatred and bitterness, he rose up and stepped into a higher ground and caught the heartbeat of praise and worship. When the blatant hatred and persecusion chased him day after night, he could examine his own heart and declared himself righteous. It's very hard not to hate when being hated. It's hard not to shoot the arrows back to the enemy when they keep shooting arrows at you. I think the Lord's hands were definately strong on David and David was obviously a favored son as well.
The discipline and the reproof most likely comes with pain. David was experiencing this pain. And this pain is a bit like the childbirth pain. We're not to run away from it, but to work with it, knowing that it brings out new life, and enables God's promises to come to pass. So friends, if suddenly there's adversity coming your way from out of nowhere, don't panic, as that might be a sign that your "baby" is right on her way. The more severe this pain gets, the closer you know that she's coming.

Be ambitious -- 1 Thessalonians 4:11

1Thess 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life... Interesting that the verse yesterday of Eccl speaks of quietness: strength, wisdom all come from a place of quietness. The quiet place is the place that we meet God and receive wisdom and strength from God. Have you thought about that we need to be ambitious when it comes to spending time with God? Most of us are more likely ambitious toward work and career, but the Bible actually teaches us to be ambitious in spending time with God in quietness. Joyce Meyer at Hillsong Conference said she spent 3 hours every morning in quietness, and that's how her massive success is based upon. So if we have any ambition for real success in life as a Christian, I think we need to firstly be ambitious toward the quiet time. I think today's proverb verse3:9-10 also refers to time as well. Make the time out with God our first priority before we spend our time doing all the other things.

Jude, Isaih 53

Just like, we're given a beautiful, glorious, splendid, pure white wedding dress, and we just carelessly wipe our hands that's full of chocholate mess onto it. Are we going to our wedding dressed like that?

Wisdom in the Ecclesiastes

My favourite verse in today's study is Ecclesiastes 9:16-18 "So I said, 'Wisdom is better than strength'. But the wisdom of the poor man is despised and his words are not heeded. The words of the wise heard in quietness are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good."
Wisdom comes from the place of quietness, not from the place of shouting. Isn't that profound!

The Conquest of Jericho -- Joshua 6

Joshua 6 speaks to me of spiritual warfare. What God has called us into, we can't take it in the usual way, like everyone else does. The plans, the strategies, the understandings... are all good, but if it's a God thing, it has to be done in God's way. We have to win first in the spiritual realm before we can see the result in the natural realm. Walking around the city is like prayer. consistent, persistent prayer. And the last day walking around the city 7 times suggests to me fast, all night prayers, 24 hours prolonged prayers...until the breakthrough comes. I'm guessing while we're praying, God's sending the angels. But sometimes it takes a while for the angels to come to the place and also to have the enough numbers. And when we shout, we're actually ordering, commanding the angels to take actions. This chapter goes perfect with the proverb verse today,"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Manna, circumcision and sandals -- the beginning of the promised land -- Joshua 5

Manna speaks of God's promise when in desert land. It's the supernatural strength and faith and holding on to the promise and callings that God gives us. It's hope. It's a substance of faith. In other words, it's a pretended "become". It's the means that enabled the Israelites to keep going until they made it to the promised land. Then once they're at the promised land, they don't need the promise and faith any more. They just need to possess. Circumcision speaks of self humbling. In promised land you will see glory, but one has to remember that all the glory belongs to God, not to yourself. It means to examine yourself, and get rid of any self-righteousness. Then to remove sandals means to walk in righteousness as he's standing on the Holy ground. Psalm 9 really fits into this chapter.
