Wisdom, understanding and knowledge -- Proverb 3:19-20

Prov3:19-20 "The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, By understanding He established the heavens. By His knowledge the deeps were broken up And the skies drip with dew."

This is like we're presented two wrapped up gifts. We don't know what's inside the packages, but we're to make a choice. This is like the earth. The wrapping papers are different, decorations are different, and the things inside are different: one leads to heaven, and one leads to hell. We need wisdom to make the right choice. Wisdom is about discernment and judgement. There're lots of voices around us telling us which one to choose: the professional, people from fashion industries, workmates, church leaders, inner convictions, parents, people that we hang out with... Wisdom is to choose which voice we would follow.

Knowledge is about building up the value system. It's about learning. It's like reading the instruction paper. The Bible says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." We need the knowledge to make the breakthroughs. It's the foundation upon which wisdom is built upon.

Understanding has two part of the words: under and stand. Under speaks of rejection, renounce, refuse. And stand means to be firm with the decision. Once we've reached our decision out of knowledge and wisdom, we have to be firm about our choices, as the other voices will not give up easily, they'll try to steal,to side track, to convince us to the other choices. So we need to turn down the other option and stick to the gift pack we chose to have. And once we embrace fully the gift pack we have chosen, and claim it to be ours without any negotiation, we'll unwrap the present and experience heaven for our lives.
