Discipline - Pain of childbirth --Psalm 11, Prov3:11-12

Prov3:11-12 "My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord or loathe Hi reproof, For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights."I think sometimes the enemies are used by God as a means of discipline and reproof. Most of David's psalms are written in the midst of adversity, where in the natural all the reponse from the flesh could only be hatred and bitterness, he rose up and stepped into a higher ground and caught the heartbeat of praise and worship. When the blatant hatred and persecusion chased him day after night, he could examine his own heart and declared himself righteous. It's very hard not to hate when being hated. It's hard not to shoot the arrows back to the enemy when they keep shooting arrows at you. I think the Lord's hands were definately strong on David and David was obviously a favored son as well.
The discipline and the reproof most likely comes with pain. David was experiencing this pain. And this pain is a bit like the childbirth pain. We're not to run away from it, but to work with it, knowing that it brings out new life, and enables God's promises to come to pass. So friends, if suddenly there's adversity coming your way from out of nowhere, don't panic, as that might be a sign that your "baby" is right on her way. The more severe this pain gets, the closer you know that she's coming.
